    Hello there Holotable Heroes,

I hope you’re doing well since our last chat and enjoyed the Bad Batch puzzles that kicked off April. We are currently getting ready for our annual May the 4th celebration with a whole host of upcoming changes. We’ve got a number of important announcements to tell you about in this Road Ahead, so let’s dive right in.

    THE BAD BATCH

April has been an exciting month for Clone Wars fans. We have released three clone troopers from the upcoming show, which also begins the process of building our new Bad Batch faction! These new units have some of our favorite animations and character designs, and I think you can tell that the team was committed to making these units extra special.

We’ve got another reveal next week that coincides with the release of the new series on Disney+ so stay tuned to the forums for the 4th member of the Bad Batch!

Continuing with our Clone Wars era content, our 4th Conquest will feature a new reward unit: Commander Ahsoka Tano!

Much like our Bad Batch units, Commander Ahsoka Tano is inspired by key moments from Season 7 of the Clone Wars. She is designed to be stronger than a Marquee character but not quite at the scale of an Epic Confrontation unit. We are also increasing the amount of shards you will be able to earn throughout an event - you will be able to unlock Commander Ahsoka at 7* after 3 Hard Conquests if you are earning the maximum reward crate and purchase her shards from merchants.

The 4th Conquest event will also mark some refinements to the Conquest unit cadence and how we plan to address these units in game.
    1. When we release a new unit to Conquest, we will do the following with previous Conquest exclusive units:
      • The older unit will remain in the End of Event rewards but will see the amount awarded in prize boxes reduced.
      • The amount of Conquest Currency needed to purchase shards will be slightly reduced.
      • Its unit shards will appear more frequently at Normal and/or Hard Node Merchants (Wandering Scavenger).
    2. Several months later a third new unit will be introduced in Conquest and that first unit (Razor Crest in this case) will:
      • Leave End of Event Prizing
      • Stay on Node Merchants (Wandering Scavenger)
      • Get added to Conquest Shipments for Crystals and Conquest Currency
    3. The last step for these units occurs approximately a year after their initial release
      • The unit will become more widely available and be moved to somewhere more accessible. The final details are undecided at this time but we are looking at adding to a Journey Guide style event or a Galactic Challenge. We will have more info on this in the future.

You still have plenty of time to finish unlocking the Razor Crest, but the focus on different units will shift as new Conquest units are released.

    CONQUEST CATCH UP
This is also a good time to catch up a bit on the structure of Conquest. At a high level, Conquest had a very successful launch with the exhibition events, and most bugs or issues that were found were fairly minor. There is still a lot we want to do in terms of polishing and expanding the experience, but we were able to gather a ton of data from the Hard and Normal runs. We are in the midst of reviewing this data along with your feedback and are still working out the roadmap, but there are a few things we can share now.

Our next Conquest (Conquest 4) has some larger balance changes planned for it, but we want to make sure these changes maintain a similar level of balance as when it launched. We’re planning on changing the Sector Bosses and swapping out some of the Data Disks. Deployable Cooldown Systems, Dread and Quickening will be replaced with Entrenched, Convor's Agility and Future Vision.

The cadence for this and the next few Conquest events have been switched to once per month - this may change in the future as we monitor how this impacts players’ time in the game, but this will give us time between events to review data from the previous event and adjust accordingly. We are looking at the next (fifth) Conquest event as our first chance to significantly refresh the experience with different matchups, feats, and potentially new modifiers. We haven’t finalized the details at the moment but the intention is to expand the theorycrafting space with a blend of old and new challenges.

    THE NEXT GALACTIC LEGEND
The Bad Batch and Commander Ahsoka are the beginning stages of Galaxy of Heroes revisiting the Clone Wars, and will lead to a new round of Galactic Legends from the same era. This time we’re doing the release a bit differently, with just one Galactic Legend at a time. Releasing them in pairs has been exciting but difficult for players - not only does it decrease the time in the spotlight for each unit, and it can be very difficult to unlock them together if you really enjoy both of the factions these units are focused on improving.

So who is this new Galactic Legend? Maybe you caught it from my opening line… it’s Jedi Master Kenobi!

Galactic Legend Jedi Master Kenobi is inspired by Obi-Wan Kenobi during Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Jedi Master Kenobi's visual appearance will be drawn directly from Revenge of the Sith as well as having most of his abilities inspired by moments from the movie. I’m sure you’ve already got some guesses, but this will include some subtle homages to his best lines and moments from the film. Other parts of his kit are inspired by his standing as the exemplar Jedi Master, a very capable Leader and patient listener. Jedi Master Kenobi will be an extremely powerful unit and on par with other Galactic Legends.

Just like previous Galactic Legends we will be rolling out the requirements over time but this time with a schedule for when you can expect to see them. You can find the first group below, but the next set of requirements will be announced on 5/19 and the final set will be posted on 6/09. There will be Double Drops associated with each of these announcements to help you prepare and unlock this newest Galactic Legend as soon as he is released.

Jedi Master Kenobi Group 1 Requirements:
    • General Kenobi - Relic 8
    • Negotiator - 6 Star
    • Mace Windu - Relic 3
    • Aayla Secura - Relic 3
    • Bo-Katan Kryze - Relic 5

    MAY THE FOURTH CELEBRATION
Speaking of Double Drops, we have some exciting plans for May 4th besides the fourth Bad Batch announcement. In celebration of May the 4th, we are rewarding double drops on Light Side Battles, Dark Side Battles, Mod Battles, Cantina Battles and Fleet Battles on May 4th and 5th. This is a great opportunity to start preparing for Galactic Legend Kenobi or finish your progress on a previous Galactic Legend. There will also be special packs and bundles… and it wouldn’t be a celebration without 3 Clone Wars Chewie shards! (AND an inbox full of goodies, an awesome Bad Batch Portrait and Title: Bad Batch.)

    UPCOMING TITLE UPDATES
Finally, let’s talk about Title Updates. These updates usually introduce a new feature or major changes to the game but we are shifting to more frequent Title Updates this year. These will be smaller in scope but the increased regularity enables us to perform fixes to Conquest quicker along with many other important improvements.

Earlier this month you saw one of these Title Updates in action with the improved Guild Search tools and menus. The previous schedule for large Title Updates would have made it troublesome to schedule the Guild Search changes when there are so many other things we want to get to, but this increased frequency means we can address some of these quality of life issues on a more regular basis.

Our next Title Update is coming in early May and is targeted at the early game experience, though players at every level will likely notice some changes. We have wanted to address the early game experience for a while and we’ll start with updating which characters all players receive as part of the early onboarding. While the initial characters in the game made sense for where we were five years ago, we’re excited to change these up for characters that should be immediately recognizable for anyone with a basic knowledge of Star Wars, as well as setting up new players for better success in the early game. There will be a list of these changes in future Update Notes so keep an eye out for that.

Even with all these improvements in the works, we are still working on larger features and big releases. These smaller Title Updates will target specific areas of Galaxy of Heroes that need improvement and continue to grow this game for years to come.

As you can see, there’s a ship load of changes coming to the game and I hope you are as excited as we are for the next few months in Galaxy of Heroes. Thank you all for reading and see you on the Holotables!

    And just like that . . .

Rey is once again at the bottom of the list for my priorities. I was probably only a couple weeks away from actually being read for her and pulling the trigger. Now, I don’t have to. JMK here I come.

Not going to lie, though, R3 Windu hurt more than I expected. Not all that happy with Bo-Katan, either. I really wasn’t all that enthusiastic about doing a Mandalorian team. Aayla is not that bad to me. She’s by no means good, but she’s not as bad as Windu and she will work in my eventual KAM team.

That being said, needing GK at R8 and Negotiator at 6 stars is going to gate a lot of people. R8 more than the ship.

I’m also curious as to whether the new Ahsoka is going to be a Jedi or not. Really, having two Jedi GLs is going to probably work very well since I’ll be able to draw from a pool of Jedi to use with them. Part of me is hoping Barriss is going to be a requirement because I’d like to do her for KAM. I give it about a 30% chance KAM is required for JMK. I didn’t genuinely expect R8 to be needed at all, but they did it.

A couple other things. The fact that new GLs are requiring higher relic levels, I think this is just going to make Kylo more of an attractive option. He and Rey are likely going to end up being the best first GLs for most people.

That, and SEE is going to get more valuable. He’s going to be a hard counter to two GLs. Jedi still have the best non-GLs in the game with GAS and JKL so it’s very likely that JMK is going to potentially be better than JML. My main thing right now is whether he’ll be a support or attacker. I can’t imagine him as another Jedi GL tank. He’s not really a healer. If he is a support, then KAM will become very important. JMK will be a Republic Jedi, so you’ll get the full Jedi Council unique. But the main take-away is +40% health and then 10% of the total health as bonus offense on a GL.

    I'm guessing for other requirements:

Jedi Council: GMY, Luminara, QGJ, Kit, KAM

    GAS
R8 GG as one of his arch nemeses
R7 Count Dooku (because they seem to have at least one overlap between GLs)
    Commander Tano
    Bad Batch complete set?
Commander Cody, etch this one in stone. To make it painful, let's say R6.

Man am I so not going to be pursuing this any time soon. I'm in a spot in my account where I need fully functional and complete teams. SLKR remains so attractive to me for just that reason. SEE's nice, but I had to spend some time afterwards working on the pieces that SEE gave me. JMK's early requirements thus far........yuck. My lowish account can't handle that kind of garbage bloat, not yet.

I’m guessing they won’t have KAM as a requirement. That would make him so far out of reach for most people that they wouldn’t bother. At least with R8 people could whale a little on the aeromagnifiers if they aren’t in a Crancor capable guild and really wanted Kenobi.

Well, I’m actually guessing that GAS and Ahsoka will not be required because we’re going to get a Fallen Anakin later on. They said they were only releasing one GL because two at a time was too much, but they didn’t say there weren’t going to do a DS one.

So I’m going to speculate that Fallen Anakin will need GAS, JKA, Vader, Ahsoka, Fulcrum Ahsoka, Commander Tano, Padme, and Dooku. They are more associated with Anakin than Obi-Wan. 501st Clones make sense here, too.

For JMK, I think Old Ben is going to be required. Same with Cody and Qui-Gon. Outside of that, I would guess Jedi like Luminara, Plo Koon, probably GM Yoda. Maybe Maul and/or Ventress?

I’m really not sure about KAM. He’s still the hardest character in the game to get and requiring him will instantly disqualify at least 80-90% of players. That means no one spending money for JMK. Because unless they offer a KAM pack, which krakens and whales would be livid about, there’s no way to buy KAM. He has to be earned over months.

I suppose you could argue that Bad Batch will keep everyone else busy. I would guess they won’t be needed for either of them. Maybe Anakin, because of Season 7. But it doesn’t look like Obi-Wan ever had any real contact with them.

I'm pretty bummed out about the relic 8 requirement(s). How can I get someone to relic 8 without spending tons of money if I can't clear hard mode conquest or beat the challenge rancor raid? I was looking forward to maybe getting JMK sometime. Well, what can ya do?

As of right now, there is no other way. It’s possible they could do new events that give it to you, but I wouldn’t count on it. They’re pretty happy with people paying for R8.

But that just goes to show why it’s never a good idea to bet on an upcoming character because there’s always going to be some kind of catch.

    This .............. is .............. awesome!

And it comes at an excellent time for you @Electricboa, and to a lesser extent me. You're sitting on a stash of gear and crystals. I'm just about done SEE's ultimate and have been stockpiling some gear since taking him to R7. I also wanted/needed a new target to work toward. And if I was given one choice of who I wanted in the game right now, it would be none other than "I have the high ground" Master Kenobi.

My guess is that much of Master Kenobi's kit will be geared specifically toward Galactic Republic Jedi, which I think makes sense since it will give players 3 Jedi squads -- one based around JML/JKL, another around JKR and OR Jedi and now GR Jedi. It's highly likely that Master Kenobi's remaining requirements will include at least a few other GR Jedi, so filling out a squad will be easy.
But Master Kenobi is a GL, so don't be surprised if his leader ability includes some bonuses for all LS toons.

The R8 requirement doesn't surprise me since the CRancor has been out since December and players can also get Aeromagnifiers from Conquest. I've heard players with not much more than 4 million GP were able to get the max crate in hard mode last time out, so mid game players can acquire them. I'm expecting 1 or 2 more R8 requirements for Master Kenobi.

I agree with Laze and Boa, adding KAM to the requirements would mean a big loss in revenue and many players would see no point in spending on Master Kenobi because he'd still be out of reach. So while it's possible, I don't think he will be needed.

    Possible other requirements:

    GMY - R7 or R8
    QGJ - R5
    Kit - R3
    Barriss - R5
    Plo Koon - R5
    Luminara - R3
    Eeth Koth - please no!

    GSky or JKA - R8
    Padme - R7
    Ahsoka Tano - R5+

I think @Themistocles is right about Cody and Grievous, too. Both make a ton of sense and so would Dooku.

I'm not sure about Commander Ahsoka. If she's required, no one will be able to play the event when it launches, which seems kinda weird and kills the hype. I'd say it's 50/50 that she's required. I suspect she's there to set up a GL Ahsoka when the TV series hits Disney +.

Bad Batch doesn't seem to fit with MK, but it would be a big incentive to spend.

Overall, I'm very pleased with this Road Ahead. Super pumped about Master Kenobi.

To play devil’s advocate, would you really want to have 3 LS GLs? Right now, I guess it doesn’t hurt you to favor one side or the other, since data disks let you win with DS teams in Conquest and DS Geo TB is the easier one. But I wonder if putting to much into one side might backfire somehow.

It works out great for me because with JMK I’ll have 2 of each. Plus, I get more value out of any Jedi I gear because they could go to JML, JMK, or even a third JKR or JKL team. That will definitely make LS Geo TB easier.

I guess I am a little surprised with R8 being required. They keep making the requirements for GLs harder and harder, but they’re all supposed to be on the same power level. Yeah, people are able to get Aeromagnifiers, but that’s a significant gear cost for everything else you have to convert. If it’s just GK, I guess it’s not so bad since he’s easily a top 5 R8 with a ton of value. But any more would hurt.

My guess is Bad Batch won’t be required, but there will be pressure to gear them because if you have GK at R8 and there’s a 99% chance we’ll have to gear Cody, all of a sudden that GK/Cody mission in Geo TB is on the table and I think you need Bad Batch to be able to clear that because the 501st isn’t able to consistently do it. Plus, all the guilds are going to want Bad Batch anyway to have a solid Republic team for regular CMs.

I am tempted to gear up Aayla now to have another Jedi to play with in my GAC and TB teams. Mace will likely be the last character I gear just because he’s so useless. What’s really depressing is both Mace and Aayla have uniques that are primed for a zeta and I don’t think they’re going to ever get one.

There was one thing I thought was pretty funny. No idea what guild this is from, but I was told they were less than 280 million GP:

That’s a fast way to lose guild members.

You'd think they'd wait to see the full list of requirements before putting that notice out, maybe the kit too. Would love to see the guild's chat channel after that went up and whether players were pissed off. One of the reasons I've always loved my guild Uprising is that there has never been any forced farms.

Now that I have SEE, the only thing that will hold me back from Master Kenobi is KAM being required. Totally not worried about having 3 LS Galactic Legends as by the time I finish Kenobi, his DS GL counterpart will probably have already been revealed. Then I'd have a choice of whoever that is or SLKR.

I could probably finish Aayla and Mace right now with what I've saved, but want to wait a bit to see whether KAM is needed.

Yeah, I might not think KAM is required, but I definitely would wait to be sure if I wasn’t so close already. I guess the one saving grace is they told people to save the gear instead of going for it now. At least if it turns out to be unobtainable, they can avoid wasting stuff. Still, I just can’t imagine the guild members took it well.

I get that JMK is likely going to be MVP of LS Geo TB, but he’s not going to help get KAM. Either KAM is needed for him or he isn’t, but I think most guilds that are doing LS TB are measuring themselves on how many KAM shards they’re getting.

Well, I think we will have some hints as to the next GL based on JMK. If we see any Anakin required for JMK, then I would say that would make it unlikely we’re getting Fallen Anakin. Though I do wonder what kind of kit Anakin would actually have. I guess Sith? It would be weird if he has synergy with the 501st, even though that would make sense canonically. Anti-Separatist? I mean SEE pretty well stomps Jedi already, so it would seem a bit overkill to have another anti-Jedi Sith GL.

There is a part of me that wonders if they’re going to surprise everyone and do a Crimson Dawn Maul with scoundrel synergy. It would be an easy way to force everyone to gear up those Solo characters most people ignored. There are more than enough characters to make a reasonable guess:

    Maul
    Ezra
    Kanan
    Ahsoka Fulcrum
    Bo-Katan
    Nest
    Gunray
    Sidious
    Qi’ra
    Young Han
    Young Lando
    Vandor Chewie
    Savage
    Old Ben

Not to mention they could do Dryden Vos and/or Tobias Beckett as new panic farm characters.

It wouldn't surprise me if the counterpart GL to Master Kenobi is GG or Dooku. If Master Kenobi's kit is based around GR Jedi, having a Separatist GL makes a ton of sense. Would they give a Fallen Anakin/Lord Vader the Separatist tag? I suppose they could, but it's a bit of a stretch.

I can see us getting a Darth Tyranus GL eventually, but I’m not sure what other version of Grievous we’d get—one with the cape?

As far as Fallen Anakin, I was talking with someone in my guild and they had an interesting take on JMK and I could see it applying to both. I mentioned that it would be strange for them to do another Jedi and Sith GL team and they said they thought JMK would have Republic synergy instead of Jedi. He’d still have the Jedi tag, so the final ‘best’ team would be Republic Jedi because of KAM. But people would be able to use JMK with other Republic teams for people that don’t have KAM (assuming he isn’t required). If we extrapolate that out to Fallen Anakin, then my guess is Empire synergy. He does have the line about his “new Empire.” That would let them have one GL per faction. And Anakin would have the Sith tag, so kind of like Emperor Palpatine, his team could be a hybrid.

This is probably not all that useful for most people, but I have to admit that I’m pleasantly surprised with Aayla at G13. I just easily 4/4 the P1 bottom Jedi CM with a not a lot of high-end characters:

JML (L), GMY, Jolee, Aayla, and Old Ben

Jolee and Old Ben were basically place holders. I could probably have gotten away with using Mace there or whatever future trash Jedi JMK requires. I guess Jolee gives some insurance in case GMY gets really unlucky and is taken out before you can get the ball rolling. JML is R8, but I don’t think that really mattered beyond the extra damage. Aayla is R3 and everyone else is R5.

Basically, it’s the same general team I normally use. The idea is to just keep feeding GMY extra attacks with inherited teachings. It normally works quite well, but Aayla is amazing in this team. I have her modded for potency (119%). I mostly gave GMY the extra attacks, but I could strategically bring Aayla in and stun targets that were getting too close to taking a turn, like those sniper or commando droids.

And as a bonus, Aayla has a 35% chance to call in another Jedi when she uses her basic, so there’s a chance to call in JML or GMY for even more damage and TM for Yoda. The last wave was Geos and it was laughably easy. JML got his ultimate in wave 1, so by the end I could attack GBA around the taunt. I got him stunned and he never got a single turn.

I know someone else in my guild used Aayla under JKL with good results, too. They used Hoda, Old Ben, and Jolee with that team.

That's good to know. There are times where I find I'm short one Jedi for something or other, and I've been considering the risk of gearing up Aayla right now before the remainder of Master Kenobi's requirements are announced. From early on in the game, I had wanted to gear her, but there never seemed to be the right time to do it. And as time went on it made even less sense to invest the gear in Aayla.

I generally split my Jedi for phase 1 of Geo LS TB like this:

JML (lead), JKR, Jolee, Bastila and GMY
JKL (lead), GSky, JKA, GK and Hoda

We skip the Special Mission in Phase 1 and go back to it during Phase 2. Aayla would give me more options.

    Hmmm...

Yeah, I always thought Aayla has potential, but it never made sense to gear her before. I’ve also had issues with needing more Jedi. That’s one of the reasons Barriss has been on my list for so long. At least with JMK’s requirements, we should have a lot more Jedi to work with. Part of me is kind of hoping we’ll need Ima-Gun Di. He’s supposed to work well with KAM and has anti-droid synergy on his basic.

I usually put JKA and GK with Padme. GAS can also go on a Padme team and it’s pretty effective.

For the most part, you can get away with GMY under JML with weaker Jedi. Just spam inherited teachings to give GMY as many turns as possible. JML will get his ultimate and that’s it. It would let you save the better Jedi for JKL and still be able to use a Padme team.

Though there is something to be said for JKL, GAS, and Hoda. It might have been the last LS TB or the one before that. I used those three with two other Jedi in P3. The other two got wiped out almost immediately and I was still able to 4/4 the CM because. I think my JKL was R8. GAS definitely was R8.

My guild doesn’t save the middle zone of P1 anymore, so we only have one shot at it. They don’t care as much about the SM, but I usually try to do it because I have GK and JKA at R8. Of course, this time I was so happy with Aayla that I wasn’t thinking and used Shaak Ti under JKL and GAS with Padme. That kind of screwed over my clone team.

Well I went ahead and gave Aayla the gear. So she's at R3 and ready to take on some Seppies in the LS Geo TB.

Master Kenobi, here I come. Wooo!

Okay, Aayla in P2 did not work out so well. I got 3/4 with:

JML (L), Aayla, GMY, Jolee, and Mace

And then promptly failed the first wave with my JKL team. I would have been better off using JKL under JML and getting that last wave. Aayla did work, but I think P2 is not a good phase to run two Jedi teams right now. GAS gets taken by that CM for him and Ahsoka, so a JKL team just doesn’t work as well without him.

I did get to try a CLS team, though. I never used C-3PO on that team and it always failed before. C-3PO really does make all the difference.

Since my guild stops just short of gaining 1 star in the mid territory in phase 1, i did that territory's Jedi mission during phase 2 with JML (lead), Aayla, GMY, Jolee and Bastila.

Aayla got defeated early, but I revived her with Jolee. She was okay. Her damage is pretty weak without buffs. Her special was doing around 30k on critical hits with buffs from GMY. The one thing that I liked were the stuns, so she can help control a battle combined with Bastila's ability blocks. My Aayla has 6 crit chance mods and 99% crit chance (plus an extra 10% from her unique), so the stuns mostly stuck.

Yeah, her damage is pathetic. The only way you get anything is if she calls in GMY or JML with her basic. The stuns were what made it so great for me. I’m at ~99% crit chance with 119% potency. I ended up stunning my target the vast majority of the time.

She never died on me in P1, but did in P2 a couple times. If I had Old Ben, I might have been able to do better in P2. Or JKL, since he couldn’t handle it on his own. I wonder if you might have had more luck in P1 if you used a crit avoidance arrow on JML. The less damage he takes, the longer he taunts and protects the more vulnerable member of his team like Aayla.
